Muhamad A’kiff A’ffan

Akif is an experienced contract, claims and disputes management professional with 10 years of experience working on major international energy and civil engineering projects in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and the Middle East.

He is a Consultant and Accredited Expert with CCi, A Rimkus Company; an independent global consultancy that is renowned for its expertise in construction and insurance industries.

He has expertise in dispute resolution through the preparation and defence of notices of contractual claims, submission of interim and detailed particulars under public and private forms of contract for extensions of time, prolongation, acceleration, disruption claims, and many others on behalf of owners and vendors. He has a strong commercial and contract management background established from working on complex construction projects across most industry sectors. He advises on contractual and commercial matters as well as preparing contractual correspondence, independent opinions and position papers on contentious and non-contentious issues.

Akif’s expert witness work includes assisting the appointed experts in the preparation of expert reports and independent opinions in matters of quantum for civil suit litigation, arbitration, and adjudication. He also appeared as the testifying expert on disputed contract and claims matters. During his career, he has personally facilitated and mediated parties in marine works disputes for out-of-court settlement.

Akif holds a first-class degree of Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, and a Professional Diploma in International Arbitration. Professionally, he is a practicing member and an accredited expert from The Academy of Experts, UK. Other affiliations include BQSM, RISM, MIArb and AIADR. At the same time, he reads law at the University of Malaya.
