Wai Chan Ming

Chan Ming is a quantity surveyor by training with over 26 years’ of working experience with consultants, developers and contractors. Upon graduating in 1992 with a Diploma in Building Technology, Chan Ming joined several construction and consultant companies in performing contract administration and quantity surveying duties for numerous building works contracts.

In 2008 Chan Ming established his own consultancy where he offers cost consulting services, pre & post construction contract management and quantum expert report services for dispute proceedings relating to residential, commercial and government building projects.

A UK qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chan Ming initially joined Contract Solutions i as a consultant, and in 2018 became an equity Partner to provide claims and dispute management advice on major commercial and mixed development projects. He has a leading role in managing CSi’s expanding adjudication claims management portfolio, working with contractors and suppliers seeking to resolve payment disputes via statutory adjudication. Chan Ming also leads CSi’s quantum valuation team, providing support to our experts in dealing with valuation of work done and variations disputes.

Notable involvement in disputed matters include cost consultancy services for a major sewer network project, LRT extension variation claims, a high end condominium development in Singapore, quantum valuation for court and arbitration proceedings, and representing claimants in statutory payment adjudications.

Chan Ming is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Chartered Institute of Building UK, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Quantity Surveyors International UK, Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, Malaysian Society of Adjudicators and a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution.

He is certified to act as Adjudicator for statutory adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act (CIPAA) in Malaysia.
