Wai Chan Ming

Chan Ming is a Partner of Contract Solutions i PLT Malaysia.

He is a quantity surveyor by training with over 26 years’ of working experience with consultants, developers and contractors. He joined several construction and consultant companies in performing contract administration and quantity surveying duties for numerous building works contracts.

In 2008 Chan Ming established his own consultancy where he offer cost consulting services, pre & post construction contract management and quantum expert report services for dispute proceedings relating to residential, commercial and government building projects.

A United Kingdom (UK) qualified Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Chartered Building Engineer and a Canadian Professional Quantity Surveyor, Chan Ming initially joined CSi as a consultant, and in 2018 became an equity Partner to provide claims and dispute management advice on major commercial and mixed development projects. He has a leading role in managing CSi’s expanding adjudication claims management portfolio, working with contractors and suppliers seeking to resolve payment disputes via statutory adjudication. Chan Ming also leads CSi’s quantum valuation team, and regularly act as expert in valuation of work done and variations disputes.

Notable involvement in disputed matters include cost consultancy services for a major sewer network project, LRT extension variation claims, a high end condominium development in Singapore, quantum valuation for court and arbitration proceedings, as well as representing claimants or respondents in statutory payment adjudications and arbitrations in Malaysia.

Chan Ming holds qualifications both in quantity surveying and construction law. He is a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors UK, Chartered Institute of Building UK, the Academy of Experts UK and Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK, Chartered Association of Building Engineers UK, the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators, the Malaysian Society of Adjudicators and the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is empaneled as Arbitrator by the Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC) and Adjudicator by the UK Adjudicators (UKA), and he is certified to act as Adjudicator for statutory adjudication under the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act (CIPAA) in Malaysia.
